Position: Optics Technician
Basic Function
This position is responsible for production of Xradia’s proprietary scintillator crystals. Also this individual will generate and review work center reports with the manufacturing manager and coordinate the correction of any manufacturing problems.
Responsibilities:
- Production and testing of detector crystals
- Assist in improving image quality acquired with crystals
- Improving the yield and scalability of the manufacturing process for the detector crystals
- Assist in imaging samples for sales and marketing
- Contribute to the development of next generation instruments
- Review production schedule and align resources to meet order due dates
- Monitor inventory for part required for scintillator production and correct any issues
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required skills:
- Analytical thinking and aptitude to work on unfamiliar problems
- Demonstrated ability to independently carry out and complete projects
- Good oral and written communication
- Familiarity with high-tech instrumentation
- Technical background of electronics, programming and mechanical systems
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Ability to handle pressures related to customer demands or requirements
- Ability to lift 15 lbs
Education/Experience Requirement:
- AA Technical degree or equivalent
- 3 – 5 years experience in a high-tech environment or lab
- Wafer thinning or ceramic polishing experience a plus
